Introduction:

Omni Private Ltd. previously Shikarpur Rice Mills is one of the largest Rice Mill in Pakistan. The mill is situated in district Shikarpur, Sindh. It is right in the heart of rice growing area, comprising of three districts in Sindh, namely Shikarpur, Larkana and Jacobabad. These three districts are the largest producers of Rice in Pakistan.

The mill was purchased from privatization commission in an open bid in 1995.The company was acquired by Omni Group in June 2000.

OPL has the ability to process both long grain Basmati varieties and medium grain varieties. The Plant husks and sells rice locally.

It is a complete husking, polishing, finishing and processing unit comprising of Japanese, American, Australian, Italian and Canadian state of the art machine with fully automatic control systems.

Omni Private is not only the largest rice mill in Pakistan but it is also the only mill that has humidity and temperature controlled "Buffer" and "Kennedy" American silos for storage of 20,400 MT of paddy. In two province of Pakistan namely Sindh and Baluchistan, there are a total about 750 rice husking units. However, none have more than 2 MTs capacity, on the other hand Omni Private has a husking processing capacity of 18 MTs per hour.
