Clarification About Showcause Notice By Fbr Against Tax Stamps

We would like to apprise that after investigating every detail, it was revealed that omission of tax stamps was not intentional or deliberate on our part as the process is being thoroughly monitored by the FBR personnel deputed at sugar mills under section 40b of the Sales Tax Act, 1990.
However, there is a possibility that some of the bags might not have been stamped properly perhaps due to weak adhesive material used in the process of affixing stamps or the stamps might have been displaced during transit.
Nevertheless, we had already refrained our broker from any sale without tax stamps and the broker assured us the same. Further, the complete sale of 20M.Ton has been declared to FBR and the resulting sales tax will be paid when it falls due i.e., on 15th of January 2022.
